Maureen Metcalf is the Founder & CEO of the Innovative Leadership Institute® (ILI), a trusted advisor to Fortune‑level companies, mission‑driven nonprofits, and public sector institutions on leading transformation in the age of AI. A Fellow of the International Leadership Association (ILA), winner of the Female Executive of the Year and Female Thought Leader of the Year at the 2025 Stevie® Awards for Women in Business, and recipient of an Honorary Doctorate in Community Leadership from Franklin University, Maureen blends boardroom rigor with applied research to help senior leaders align strategy, culture, and systems for measurable results. She has expanded ILI’s services with the launch of Innovative Executive Solutions™, offering flexible Advisory, Interim Leadership, and Project-based consulting solutions to provide the high-impact leadership you need, without the risk and expense of full-time overhead.

Maureen has worked in numerous sectors, including technology, engineering, manufacturing, financial services, and healthcare, with clients ranging from Fortune 15 organizations, the U.S. Armed Forces, and nonprofits like the American Heart Association. As CEO of IES, Maureen will utilize her extensive portfolio of leadership transformation, assessments, and executive coaching to assist Boards and C-Suite leaders in need of short-term solutions with real-world impact.

As the CEO of IES, Maureen will oversee:

  • Enterprise Advisory and Board Services: C-suite and Board coaching, decision velocity and quality, risk posture, ethics, innovation readiness, and transformation
  • Interim Leadership to Provide Continuity: KPI delivery, risk mitigation, structured handoff
  • Project Execution: On-time, on-budget delivery, KPI uplift (EBITDA, NPS, OTIF, inventory accuracy, churn, retention)
  • M&A Diligence & Integration: Guide acquisition/divestiture strategy, leadership alignment, synergies, digital risk, cultural integration
  • AI Strategy/Ethics Advisory: AI readiness, ethical governance, innovation acceleration, risk mitigation, stakeholder confidence
  • Board-ready Programmatic Solutions: Leadership accelerator, culture activation, innovation sprints

Internally, Maureen will co-lead ERP, Strategy, and Business Growth across all IES consulting and Advisory projects with George Limbert. She will help Boards and Leadership teams translate strategy into measurable performance by combining ILI’s globally recognized leadership framework with elite executive expertise, delivering innovative solutions for organizations facing complex challenges.

Before founding IES and ILI, Maureen served in transformation consulting roles with Accenture and PriceWaterhouseCoopers, where she led complex change initiatives across technology, operations, and organizational design—experience that continues to inform her pragmatic, enterprise-scale approach. She holds an MBA in Finance from Virginia Tech and a BS in Economics from James Madison University.

The show is published weekly across numerous platforms and the ILI site, and each episode regularly reaches 8,000 listeners in 121 countries.

Her award‑winning “Innovative Leadership” book series (including Innovative Leaders for Health Care and Innovative Leadership & Followership in the Age of AI) has been adopted by public, private, and academic organizations. The series has earned international book honors and underpins ILI development programs and assessments used by senior executives worldwide. She is a frequent keynote speaker and presented on Leadership in the Age of AI and innovative governance at university symposia, industry conferences, and corporate events—most recently moderating at Amazon’s Delivering the Future forum and leading sessions for Franklin University and the International Leadership Association global conference.
